Enabling High-Voltage Solid-State Lithium Metal Batteries through Polymer Electrolyte Engineering

This paper details the development and compositional tuning of Single Lithium-Ion Conducting (SLIC) gel polymer electrolyte membranes derived from PMTFSILi, sulfolane plasticizer, and PVDF-HFP. Manufactured via a scalable two-step dry-mixing process in a dry room, these self-standing membranes combine high mechanical robustness with excellent single-ion transport selectivity.

In sum, the engineered SLIC membranes achieved high ionic conductivity and exceptional lithium single-ion selectivity. The optimized formulation successfully validated stable cell cycling under mild conditions, proving the feasibility of solvent-free, scalable manufacturing for high-voltage polymer batteries.
