This study presents a direct performance comparison between conventional wet processing (solution casting) and solvent-free dry manufacturing (melt compounding) for both PEO-based and single-ion hybrid (PMTFSILi) solid polymer electrolytes. Key electrochemical evaluations – including ionic conductivity, cyclic voltammetry, and impedance spectroscopy – demonstrate that dry-processed membranes deliver performance comparable to their wet-processed counterparts.
In sum, transitioning to dry processing offers a highly sustainable and cost-effective pathway for next-generation solid-state batteries. Achieving equivalent electrochemical performance without organic solvents drastically reduces environmental impact and manufacturing complexity, paving the way for scalable battery production.
