HyLiST was at the Battery Safety Conference 2026

Represented by Guiomar Hérnandez, the HyLiST project was present at this year’s Battery Safety Conference, which took place in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Understanding battery safety is the blueprint for the future of Hydrogen. By mastering how we manage battery stability and large-scale storage today, we can build safer and more reliable energy models for Hydrogen tomorrow.

Here are some of the most important things we learned:

  • AI-Driven Predictive Safety
The industry is moving from passive protection to active prevention. Using AI and sensor fusion, we can now detect the earliest signs of thermal runaway, allowing for real-time intervention before a failure occurs.

  • Non-Flammable Chemistry
Breakthroughs in fluorine-free and non-flammable electrolytes are redefining cell safety. These new materials are the first line of defense, aiming to eliminate fire risks at the chemical level in high-density batteries.

  • The Battery Passport Era
Safety is now tied to data. With the EU Battery Regulation milestones, safety standards are evolving into a digital reality.
